I still do….

On Saturday the 24th of May I was blessed to be able to share a very special day with an amazing couple.  To celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary they renewed their vows surrounded by family and friends in the stunning grounds of The Laurals, Warwick, Queensland.

There were so many touching moments between this family. A gorgeous handwritten note by their daughter…

The ceremony took place as the winter sun was stinking down towards the horizon.  It was a beautiful family affair as the kids casually moved in and out and the couple recited their “thank you’s” to each other, as they acknowledged all those unique things that make married life the special adventure that it is.

Afterwards the three girls performed a song and dance to “Love is an Open Door” from the their favourite movie – Frozen which was absolutely delightful.

Engaged!

I just realised I hadn’t shared the most lovely engagement party I had the pleasure of photographing a few weeks ago and considering the storms here in beautiful Brisbane have been messing with my outdoor sessions it seemed like the perfect opportunity to share.

When my client gave me the address of this engagement party I was so excited! Dayboro has got to be one of my all time favourite places to photograph.

We took some time before the party started to get some family photos done.

Family Time

As the sun went down behind this gorgeous property I spent some time with this beautiful couple by themselves.

The happy couple

Before kicking up our heals and enjoying the party with a roaring bonfire, twinkling fairy lights and strings of lanterns.

But the best part of the story is that in just a little while I will get to capture this happy couple again as they say “I do”.  Stay tuned!

Beautiful Bridal Shower

On a gorgeous summery day in Brisbane I walked into this stunning garden on the Gold Coast to capture some precious moments for a gorgeous bride to be.

The attention to detail in the decorations and preparations was just beautiful.

Family and friends gathered to celebrate with strawberry champagne and beautiful food before retiring to the lovely garden area to relax, chat and share some gorgeous gifts.  Thank you so much for inviting me into your very special day and all my very best for the upcoming wedding!

Capturing your event

I recently had the honour of capturing some community events around Brighton and Redcliffe.  Event photography is something that is especially close to my heart.  When I look back at my life there are so many moments I wish I had captured on film (or mega pixels these days).

My bridal shower, baby showers, kids birthday parties.  As the years go past and I flick through the photo albums I find a couple of happy snaps of these important events caught quickly in the rush of the moment, many more are probably stashed away in someone else’s album, hard-drive or a box under the bed.  Those moments that you think you will remember forever – the way your child’s eyes lit up when they opened that present or the way you ran and hugged your best friend you hadn’t seen in years when she turned up at your bridal shower – these are the moments that aren’t in those happy snaps and they slowly fade away in memory as time passes by.

That is why I love event photography.

Birthday party.  Kids party. Bridal shower. Baby Shower. If its special to you – I can be there to capture it forever.
