Tamara and Spencer’s Gorgeous Country Wedding {Dayboro – Mt Pleasant Wedding Photographer}
On the 13th of December, the day was slightly overcast but this made for an absolutely beautiful day to get married at Henzell’s Chapel at Dayboro, Queensland. Tamara and Spencer are a beautiful couple and I hope they enjoy this little preview of their wedding photos.
Tamara and Spencer have actually known each other for 8 years through good friends but didn’t actually start dating until the 15th April 2011. On the 28th of August 2012 Spencer picked Tamara up in a Ferrari and they drove to Mt Tamborine to enjoy the sights and a coffee before heading to the lookout where Spencer proposed.
From that point on the wedding preparations started revolved around this and their story. They choose a country theme to celebrate their day and their love of the country. Tamara has been a resident of the scenic Dayboro area for over 20 years so the choice of Henzell’s Chapel for the ceremony was an easy one. Spencer fell in love with Henzell’s chapel at as soon as he saw it. The reception at Mt Pleasant Hall was beautifully and elegantly decorated by the family with a focus on hessian trim and natural materials and was the perfect place to have a gorgeous country reception.

Winter Wonderland
Winter is a lovely time of year in Brisbane, Australia, as long as you don’t have to get out of bed too early in the morning that is. (Winters in Townsville and North QLD are much nicer but lets not get hung up in my pining for the warm tropics). Winter afternoons have the most gorgeous glow to them and as that sun sinks down below the horizon and the warmth of the day sinks with it, it makes for a beautiful time to photograph. One of my favourite places to photograph is especially gorgeous in winter when the wetlands have dried up and the long dry grass stretches out in the sunshine.
I was very lucky that a little store in Brighton, Jolie offered to lend us some gorgeous clothing and accessories for this concept shoot. (They also have a shop in Wavell Heights or shop online – just a little plug 🙂
My model Georgia did an amazing job at both bringing these beautiful clothes and the concept to life. I hope you enjoy our little snapshot of an Aussie Winter wonderland
I still do….
On Saturday the 24th of May I was blessed to be able to share a very special day with an amazing couple. To celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary they renewed their vows surrounded by family and friends in the stunning grounds of The Laurals, Warwick, Queensland.
There were so many touching moments between this family. A gorgeous handwritten note by their daughter…
The ceremony took place as the winter sun was stinking down towards the horizon. It was a beautiful family affair as the kids casually moved in and out and the couple recited their “thank you’s” to each other, as they acknowledged all those unique things that make married life the special adventure that it is.
Afterwards the three girls performed a song and dance to “Love is an Open Door” from the their favourite movie – Frozen which was absolutely delightful.

The time of your life
When I was younger and people used to tell me that this (insert age) was the time of my life. Although it often didn’t feel like it at the time. However now in my 30’s I do, reluctantly admit they were correct. And I wish I had more photos of myself from these times in my life.
Thats what our “Time of Your Life” shoots are all about. Designed for young people, particularly at pivotal moments in their life (end of primary school, end of high school, beginning or end of university- or really any time you feel ready).
I had the beautiful Alyssa come and help me out with the first of these concept shoots on Wednesday, after our first shoot was rained out. She was an absolute joy to work with and a fantastic model.
Down by the river
My homework assignment this week inspired me to attempt something I have always wanted to try and my gorgeous model Katie brought the whole scene to life. After some scouting around I finally found the right location at Cedar Creek in Samford. Katie answered a model call-out on our Facebook page and travelled all the way from Toowoomba and even with some trouble finding the place she was an absolute delight to work with! Thank you for your generous donation of time Katie and I hope you enjoy your photos.
